Faisalabad ASO seizes shampoo, Mazda truck worth Rs 2.6m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has confiscated 445 cartons of smuggled Loreal Shampoo and a Mazda Truck being used for the transportation of the smuggled items during worth Rs 2.692 million.

Following credible information, Deputy Collector Muhammad Falik Shair formed a team comprising Superintendent Saeed Joyia, Inspector Masood Saeed Chohan, Abdul Jabbar, Safdar Ali, Sepoy Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Javid, Naeemullah and Muhammad Ashraf to foil the smuggling attempt.

The ASO team intercepted a Mazda Truck bearing Registration No. LES-3664 near Makuana Bypass Jaranwala Road, Faisalabad and recovered 445 cartons of imported shampoo. The officials asked the driver named Faheem Shahzad to show document regarding the legal import of the said item but he failed to do the same.

Therefore, the recovered shampoos were confiscated under the customs laws, while the case has been sent to the adjudication for further action.
