Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled art silk cloth

FAISALABAD: Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Faisalabad confiscated foreign origin art silk cloth measuring 3970 yards. The market value of seized cloth is Rs 7,94,000/-.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Model Customs Faisalabad Dr. Zulfikar Ali Chaudhary received credible information about the above said smuggled cloth. Soon after receiving information he formed a raiding team comprising Muhammad Javed Mehmood (superintendent), Sardar Muhammad (deputy superintendent) Masood Saeed Chohan, Abdul Jabbar (inspector), Muhammad Ashraf, Hafiz Naseer (sepoys).

The ASO team intercepted a bus bearing registeration No. FDZ-8276 near Motorway Chowk Sargodha Road Faisalabad and seized foreign origin silk cloth. The ASO team asked driver of the bus who was identified as Sohail Butt and Rashid Anwar son of Anwar Hussain conductor of the bus to provide legal documents about possession of the silk cloth but he failed to provide the same. The ASO team seized the cloth and registered a case against accused persons.
