Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled goods worth Rs12.60m

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has foiled a bid to smuggle forein origin whey milk powder Chinese salt and raisin worth Rs 2.60 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Fayyaz Anwar received credible information about smuggling attempts. He immediately constituted a team under the supervision Deputy Collector Amjad Aman and Superintendent Anjum Sheraz to confiscate the smuggled items.

The customs anti-smuggling squad conducted raid and confiscated whey milk powder 1250 kilograms, Chinese salt 700 kilograms, foreign origin raisin 990 kilograms from vehicle.

Meanwhile Deputy Collector Amjad Aman while talking to Customs Today said that department was striving to increase the surveillance of suspects in the region as more check posts has been established to foiled the smuggling bids. After making seizure report the ASO team deposited the confiscated cigarettes to Faisalabad State Warehouse SWH.
