Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled goods worth Rs13.2m during December2016

FAISALABAD: Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) foiled various attempts to transport smuggled goods worth Rs 13.2 million during the Month of December 2016.

Sources told Customs Today that ASO seized non-duty paid items from different locations of Faisalabad including Chanab Nagar, Sargodha Road, Gattwala, Karkhana Bazar, Railway Colony and other areas.

The ASO teams did various operations on the pursuance of information provided by Additional Collector Muhammad Saeed Asad under the supervision of Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan Khan. The ASO team comprising Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joiya, Inspector Ali Zahid, Khalid Ashraf Noor, Sepoys Muhammad Khalid, Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Ashraf, Liaqat Ali, And Afzal Hussain participated in the operations.

The seized goods include fabric 1345 kilogram worth Rs 736350, tyres and tube worth Rs 2, 50, 000, auto spare parts 730 kilogram worth Rs 369582, medicine 619 kilogram worth Rs 171380 and various other contraband items worth Rs 3663495 during the above said period.

The ASO teams also impounded 9 offending vehicles under Section (U/S157) worth Rs 6.4 million as for as two non-duty paid vehicles under section (U/S16 NDP) worth Rs 1.65 million during the month of December 2016.
