Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled goods worth Rs34.6m in third week of May

FAISALABAD: A team of Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized smuggled goods worth Rs 34.6 million during third week of May 2016.

Following the instructions of Collector Dr Zulafqar Ali Chaudhary,  the ASO team started anti-smuggling campaign in the region under the supervision of Deputy Collector Rizwan Khan. The ASO team comprising Superintendent Muhammad Saeed Joyia, Inspector Masood Saeed Chohan, Abdul Jabbar and Safdar Ali, others conducted different raids.

During raids the ASO team intercepted two vehicles loaded with smuggled goods worth Rs1.7million and also impounded two non-duty paid vehicles Rs600,000.

The ASO team has also seized huge quantity of foreign auto spare parts worth Rs 93713. ASO team miscleanous items worth Rs10,24,490. The accused person failed to produce any legal documents regarding possession of vehicles and foreign goods.

The ASO team seized the above said illegal goods and registered separate cases of smuggling against accused persons.
