Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled items worth Rs 31.42m in first week of September

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Faisalabad conducted various operations against smugglers on the special instructions by Additional Collector Muhammad Saeed Asad and recovered goods worth Rs 31.42 million during the first week of September.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan Khan constituted a team to curb smuggling. The ASO team consisted of Saeed Akhtar Joiya, Chaudhary Muhammad Sardar (superintendents), Masood Saeed Chohan and Safdar Ali, Ansar Saleemi (inspectors), Muhammad Ashraf, Liaquat Ali, Israr Ahmad and Muhammad Abdullah ( sepoys ). The team seized smuggled items and three vehicles being used for transportation of smuggled goods. All these items were brought into the country without payment of custom duty and taxes.

Faisalabad ASO seized items of import and Export Control Act. 1950 punishable under Section 156(1)89(i) 90 of the Customs Act 1969 and forward the cases to Customs Adjudication Faisalabad for legal action.
