Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled items worth Rs 6.771m in third week of August

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Faisalabad has conducted various operations against smugglers on the special instructions of Additional Collector Saeed Asad and recovered different goods worth Rs 6.771 million during third week of August 2016.

Sources told Customs Today that the Customs ASO team under the supervision of Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan Khan conducted various raids in the region to curb smuggling and registered nine cases against suspects.

Sources said that ASO team comprising Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joiya,  Inspector Masood Saeed Chohan and Inspector Safdar Ali, Muhammad Ashraf,  Liaquat Ali, Israr Ahmad and Muhammad Abdullah sepoy intercepted three non duty paid vehicles.  The same also recovered foreign origin cloth, tyres and tube, value of tyres was estimated at Rs 11,6666.

Sources said that owners of these vehicles and goods were failed to show any relevant legal documents regarding possession and transporting of said vehicles and goods. ASO team seized the goods and forwarded the cases to Customs Adjudication for further proceedings.
