Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled linseed worth Rs25m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has confiscated foreign origin smuggled linseed worth Rs 4.5 million. The seeds were being smuggled from Quetta to Faisalabad.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Muhammad Saleem received credible information about some smuggling attempts. He immediately constituted anti-smuggling squad. The ASO squad intercepted truck bearing registration no: TKW-303 near from Pensara Interchange and recovered huge quantity of linseed.

The ASO officials asked the driver to produce any legal documents regarding the legal possession of the smuggled foreign origin linseed seen but they could not show any documents on which customs to foil the smuggling attempt and seized smuggled goods and vehicles under the Section 16 18 and 157 of the Customs Act 1969.

After making the seizure report the ASO team deposited the confiscated smuggled goods in State Warehouse SWH Faisalabad.

The ASO team after registering a case started further investigations.
