Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled non duty paid Butyle Acrylate near Jhang

FAISALABAD: The Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) confiscated the foreign origin Butyle Acrylate and confiscated Hino truck which was being used for transportation. The market value of the seized items is Rs10,000,000 involving customs duty and taxes of Rs1150000.

Sources told to Customs Today, that Collector Model Customs Faisalabad Muhammad Sadiq received a tip off about the above said smuggled items. Soon after receiving the information  he formed a raiding team comprising Tanveer  Raza Naqvi (Superintendent), Faizi Raza and Munir Ahmed (Inspectors), Muhammad Ashraf and Hafiz Naseer (Sepoys).

The ASO team intercepted a Hino truck with registration No: FDZ-8976 near Maluana More Jhang and recovered Butyle Acrylate 160 iron drums each drum 180-Kgs made in Malaysia.

The team asked the driver of the truck identified as Sajid Hussain to provide the legal documents of the possession of the smuggled goods. But he failed to do so. The ASO team seized the Butyle Acrylate and registered a case against the accused persons and also forward case to Customs Adjudication for further legally action against accused nominated person.
