Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled tyres and tubes

FAISALABAD: Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Faisalabad foiled an attempt to smuggle foreign origin tyres and tubes worth Rs 250,000 during an action.

According to details, Additional Collector ASO Muhammad Saeed Asad received credible information that foreign origin tyres and tubes are being smuggled into Faisalabad. He immediately constituted a team consisting Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joiya, Inspectors Khalid Ashraf Noor, Ali Zahid, Sepoys Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Khalid, Afzal Hussain, Muhammad Ashraf and Liaqat Ali.

The above mentioned ASO team raided near Gattwala Toll Plaza Sheikhupura road and recovered foreign origin tyres and tubes that were being transferred into Faisalabad from Lahore.

The ASO team asked the driver who was identified as Rahim dad khan son of Muhammad Gull residential Mehmood road Shahdara Lahore to produce documents regarding the possession and transportation of these compressors but he failed to provide any relevant documents.

After his failure the ASO team seized the compressors under section 168 of the Customs Act 1969 for violation of section 2(S), 16 and 18 of the Customs Act 1969.

ASO authorities after registering a case of smuggling against driver started further investigations.
