Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled zeera, cardamom near Canal Road

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti Smuggling Organization  confiscated 2240 kilograms of foreign origin zeera and large cardamom Indian brand.

Sources told Customs Today that following a tip off customs staff of ASO squad foiled an attempt of smuggling of 2240 kilograms zeera valued around Rs32,82,800 in the international market. Besides confiscated Hino truck Rs 20,00,000 involving customs duty and taxes Rs1,88,040 and arrested the driver of vehicle.

Sources told that Deputy Collector Usam tariq received a tip off regarding some smuggling of goods. He formed a team under the supervision of Superintendent Dilawar Hussain, Inspector Tanveerul Haq, Khalid Ashraf Noor and others. The ASO squad intercepted a Hino truck bearing registration no: LRT-1690 near Canal Road Kashmir Pull and recovered zeera large cardamaom which was being smuggled from Rawalpindi to Faisalabad. The ASO apprehended the driver of the vehicle namely Muhammad Arif son of Allah Dad. A case has been registered under the relevant provisions of by laws and further investigations are underway.
