Faisalabad ASO seizes vacuum flasks worth Rs 1.9 million from Sarai Mohajir

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) confiscated 157 cartons of smuggled vacuum flask worth Rs 1.99 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 330,251 from Sarai Mohajir.

The ASO team received information through Model Customs Collectorate Faisalabad Deputy Collector Muhammad Falik Shair and held a picket at MM road, Sarai Mohajir.

The team comprising Inspector Safdar Ali, Sepoy Hassan Riaz Ahmad and others, intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. TLH-225 and recovered cartons of vacuum flask.

The driver of the vehicle, Imran Khan was asked to produce the documents showing legal import of the items, the driver showed Goods Declarations No. KAPW-HC-74364, which found fake after examination.

Therefore, the customs officials confiscated the said items under Import and Export Control Act, 1950 punishable under Section 156(1)89 of the Custom Act, 1969.

For further investigation, report has been submitted to the adjudication department.
