FAISALABAD: A Federal Board of Revenue delegation, led by Chief Commissioner-IR Shad Muhammad, has called on the local business community of the industrial city and assured them of full cooperation and guidance in return filing, payment of tax, etc.
The interactive session on Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (2016) was held at Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), where the RTO team comprising Commissioner-IR (Zone-II) Dr Muhammad Akram Khan, Commissioner-IR (BTB) Ahsan Raza, Additional Commissioner (HQ) Sajjad Amjad and officers/members of taxpayers’ facilitation teams cleared the the traders’ reservations on the tax amnesty scheme.
Members of the FCCI as well as representatives of various trade associations were also present on the occasion.
In his welcome address, FCCI President Chaudhary Muhammad Nawaz highlighted the significance for this interaction in view of need for further clarity on various aspects of the scheme.
Additional Commissioner Sajjad Amjad gave a comprehensive presentation on salient features of the scheme. The presentation was followed by question & answer session wherein specific queries of the members of FCCI and trade associations were addressed by the Chief Commissioner and his team.
The session was highly useful as it addressed various ambiguities and misgivings about the scheme on part of the participants from traders’ side. It was resolved that further interaction on the matter will continue at association level so that maximum number of taxpayers can file returns and pay tax under the scheme.
