Faisalabad Collector Adjudication Asif Abbas issues notice to accused involved in smuggling

FAISALABAD: Collector Customs Adjudication Asif Abbas Khan Buzdar issued a show cause notice to the owner of foreign origin school bags.

According to the details, Customs I&I has intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no: TLB-490 near Sargodha Road Kamalpur for checking and recovered smuggled school bags worth Rs7.9 million involving duty and taxes amounting to Rs3.7 million during an action.

The officials asked the driver of the vehicle namely Ali Khan to show documents regarding legal import of the items but he could not produce the same. Therefore the officials confiscated the items under customs laws after making a seizure report.

Therefore, Customs I&I team forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication department. Now Collector Customs Adjudication Asif Abbas has issued show cause notice to the owner. The collector also directed if the owner fails to provide evidence, the case will be decided on the basis of evidence available on demand.
