Faisalabad Customs Adjudication adjourns 59 smuggling cases in June

FAISALABAD: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication adjourned as many as 59 seizure cases involving Rs 82.748 million during June 2016.

Adjudication Collector Raja Tahir Majeed adjourned three cases involving Rs 14.462 million pertaining to the seizures of various items. The cases were made by the customs authorities.

Furthermore, Additional Collector Beelam ur Remzan adjourned 24 cases worth Rs 30.966 million, while Deputy Collector Asma Hameed postponed 32 cases involving Rs 37.320 million.

Most of the adjourned seizure cases were detected and registered by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation, while few cases were made by the Faisalabad Anti-smuggling Organisation (ASO). These cases were forwarded by Mianwali, Sargodha, Jhang, and Sara E Muhajir regions.

The seizure cases pertaining to smuggled Toyota vehicles, mobile phones, base oil, tyres, tubes and auto parts were heard by the Customs Adjudication authorities.

Besides, the adjudication also issued to notice to accused persons to attend the hearing. The collector directed the owners of seized goods and their counsel to present their arguments in next hearings.
