Faisalabad Customs Adjudication adjourns 67 smuggling cases in May

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Customs Adjudication adjourned 67 seizure cases worth Rs 117.581 million during May, 2016.

Customs Adjudication Collector Raja Tahir Majeed has adjourned 8 cases worth Rs 48.539 million pertaining to the seizures of various items. The cases were made by customs authorities. The collector directed the owners of seized goods and their counsel to present their arguments in next hearing.

Furthermore, Additional Collector Beelam ur Remzan adjourned 27 cases worth Rs 31.725 million, while Deputy Collector Asma Hameed adjourned 32 cases involving Rs 37.317 million.

Most of the adjourned seizure cases were detected and registered by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation, while few cases were made by the Anti-smuggling Organisation (ASO).

The seizure cases pertaining to smuggled vehicles, mobile phones, base oil, tryes, tubes and auto parts were heard by the Customs Adjudication.
