Faisalabad Customs Adjudication decides 78 cases, recovers Rs 45m

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication settled 78 cases of smuggling involving Rs 45.82 million during first three months (July-September) of current fiscal year 2015-16.

All the cases were registered by Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) and Customs Investigation and Intelligence Faisalabad.

The adjudication heard the cases of smuggled diesel, food items, cloth, tea, auto parts, Rani Juice, vehicles and other miscellaneous items.

According to the details, Customs Adjudication Collector Tahir Majeed heard five cases. However, Additional Collector Amjad-ur-Rehman decided 12 cases of smuggling and recovered Rs 18.07 million from the defaulters.

On the other hand, Assistant Collector Bilam decided 61 cases and recovered Rs 27.75 million.
