Faisalabad Customs Adjudication issues 5 notice involving tax evasion of Rs 8.856m

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Saima Aftab has issued as many as five show cause notices to suspects allegedly involved in tax evasion of Rs 8.856 million.

The additional collector issued three show cause notices in three cases filed by Customs Intelligence and Investigation involving duty andtaxes to the tune of Rs 5.031 million, besides issuing two notices in the cases filed by Khushab Field Investigation Unit (FIV) involving Rs 3.824 million.

A notice was issued to Akhtar Shah in a smuggled Toyota RAV Jeep bearing Registration No. MC-844 worth Rs 2.185 involving Rs 1.639 duty/taxes, while another notice was sent to a smuggler of Toyota Hilux surf bearing Registration No. IDL-3150.

Furthermore, the adjudication served a notice on Samar Abbas involved in smuggling of 400 KVA generator by using a Mazda Truck involving Rs 2.641 million, a notice on Muhammad Iqbal and Muhammad Akram who were found involved in smuggling of cardamom worth Rs 1.12 million and the fifth notice was issued to Shakeel Ahmad, Muhammad Saad and Muhammad Gulzar in cumin seeds and black pepper smuggling case involving Rs 1.27 million.
