Faisalabad Customs Adjudication orders to release cigarettes

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelam Ramzan has ordered to release only cigarettes of Pakistani brand out of a seized consignment composing of various items.

The additional director said that orders regarding the other items will be issued after the completion of adjudication process.

As per details, the Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) seized cigarettes, Tara Filter Khiani, JK Flavored Tobacco and other items from a rickshaw, which was going to deliver these items in city area from M/S Al-Atif Goods Forwarding Agency. The officials confiscated the items after the driver failed to provide documents regarding the legal import of the items and sent the case to the adjudication for further legal action.

Inspector Saeed Chohan appeared from the petitioner’s side and Zohaib on behalf respondent and claimed the ownership of cigarettes. The adjudication authority after hearing arguments ordered to release the Pakistan made cigarettes unconditionally to the lawful owner.

Beelam Ramzan said that the decision regarding the other items will be issued later.
