The collector said that Faisalabad Customs was taking appropriate steps to facilitate the exporters and importers in addition to generating much needed revenue for the government kitty. He said that in this connection, the officials were vigilant and the export consignments are being cleared within one hour after its arrival at this upcountry dry port.

He said that this facility will continue while steps were being taken to clear the export consignments of leading export houses at their door steps. “We have decreased the freight & other charges of FDPT to convince the exporters to route their entire cargo through Faisalabad Dry Port,” he said and added “We are always available to the importers and exporters in order to resolve their issues”.

This meeting has been specially arranged to brief them about the steps taken by the collectorate as well as by the management of the FDPT. Commenting on the facility of self clearance, he told that a training session for the exporters was being arranged on this topic by the FDPT so they could minimise their expenditures by saving the fees paid to the clearing agents.

They also shared their issues in respect to the clearance of their cargo at the dry port while the collector assured to resolve their genuine problems on a priority basis.
