Faisalabad Customs Appraisement falls Rs173m short of allocated collection target

FAISALABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate, Faisalabad, Appraisement Branch collected Rs 543.182million during first three weeks of April 2018 against the set target of Rs716.58million. So the collectorate had to suffer a deficit of Rs173million.

The Customs Appraisement collected the revenue under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty during the above said period.

The collectorate got a Customs Duty of Rs153.191million against the set target of Rs217.19million. The collectorate recovered a sales tax of Rs381.861million against the allocated target of Rs493.31million.

The Customs Appraisement generated Rs8.130million under the head of income tax during the above said duration against the earmarked target of Rs6.08million. The Faisalabad Collectorate has not collected a revenue of federal excise duty (FED) against the target.

Customs Appraisement Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig said the Customs Department has issued notices to a number of tax defaulters in the recent months asking them to clear their outstanding tax dues at the earliest to avoid stern action.
