FAISALABAD: Pakistan Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad has seized items worth Rs07.00million involving customs duty and taxes of Rs05.01million by foiling different smuggling bids during first week of April 2017 besides confiscating two vehicles under Section (U/S 157 ) worth Rs03.07million being used for transportation.
The I and I Regional Office Faisalabad made four seizures in its regions including FIU Khushab, Sargodha and Sara-e-Muhajir by conducting successful operations against the smugglers.
While talking to Customs Today, Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad Superintendent Zahid Raza Bukhari said the intelligence teams are determined to curb the smuggling in the region and there is no room for smugglers.
He said the customs is taking action against the smugglers with the cooperation of the other law enforcement agencies. He also appreciated the performance of the intelligence teams and vowed to continue such operations against the culprits.
He added that Faisalabad intelligence seized Suzuki Carry Station Wagon with Registration No: WAJ-870 (Quetta), model 1995, worth Rs01.00million involving duty and taxes of Rs945500, Sulfocid 97 (Linear Alky Lbenzene Sulfonic acid 97% (24200-kg) worth Rs03.00 involving customs duty and taxes of Rs985498, foreign origin (F/O), Tyres (14-Nos) made in China worth Rs420000 involving duty taxes of Rs 239232.
The intelligence team also confiscated smuggled Mazda truck No: TKA-023 (Jaffarabad ) cut and welded model 1994 worth Rs02.5million involving duty of Rs02.8million in Field Investigation Unit ( FIU ) Khushab and lodged cases against the smugglers during operations.
