Faisalabad Customs foils bid to smuggle ice heroin from airport

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs team deputed at Faisalabad International Airport foiled a bid to smuggle 950 grams of methamphetamine worth Rs10 million.

Sources told Customs Today that the accused was identified as Usman Ali son of Zulfiqar Ali who is a resident of Sheikhupura who was trying to board a UAE bounded flight. The accused was present in the airport lounge along with his baggage when the Customs officials upon detection of his suspicious activities took him to joint search counter.

Customs and ASF staff joined searched his luggage. The detecting agencies found 950 grams of ice heroin that was concealed in his luggage.

Meanwhile the passenger was arrested on the spot and handed over to ANF police for further investigation. A case was filed against the suspected smuggler while further investigation is underway.
