Faisalabad Customs foils bid to smuggle goods worth Rs30m from Jhang Road

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs anti-smuggling squad foiled a smuggling attempt and seized cumin and china salt worth Rs 30 million from Jhang Road, here on Tuesday.

According to sources,  customs anti-smuggling squad comprising Superintendent Anjum Sheraz, Inspector Muhammad Javed Iqbal Butt and Rana Babar Iqbal, chased a truck on suspicion and succeeded in stopping it at Jhang Road.

During search, the team found that cumin and china salt was being smuggled in the truck. Further investigation was under way.

It is necessary to mention here that Customs department is using all available resources to curb smuggling attempts in the region, as smugglers are taking advantage of current COVID-19 situation in the region. Customs authorities already adopted zero tolerance policy against suggling.
