FAISALABAD: The Customs authorities collected Rs 1.78 million through auction of smuggled goods. The auction was held on the premises of the Customs collectorate.
Sources told Customs Today that 98 items were offered for auction but only four items attracted suitable prices. The remaining lots were rejected by the bidders.
The items which were presented includes foreign origin cloth, Indian black tea, auto parts, fax machine and referagator, smuggled ceramic tiles, Toyota Hilux Surf, Toyota Vitz car, Toyota Hiace van and others differents types of vehicles.
Sources said only one vehicle Toyota Hilux Surf were sold with suitable price of Rs7,40,000, while Rs 10,40,000 were generated by selling different smuggled goods.
