Faisalabad Customs Import issues show-cause notices to recover tax

FAISALABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate ( Mcc ) Import Branch issued show cause notices to a company M/s Sheraz Impex involved in tax evasion.

According to details, a show-cause notice was issued to M/s Sheraz Impex located at Malir for recovery of evaded tax amount. The company evaded tax money by using wrong PCT Heading to get clearance of a consignment of miscellaneous items in December 2016. During the scrutiny of clearance documents, the customs authorities found that the company evaded duty and taxes in the above said consignment.

After finding the fraud in duty payment, the customs authorities issued a show cause notice to the company and ordered it to submit the payable amount within fortnight.

Meanwhile, the customs authorities issued another show-cause notice to company and ordered the authorities to submit evaded tax amount. Sources said that Recovery Deputy Collector (D.C) Rana Falik Shair also asked in the above said case that owner provide legal documents and relevant evidence available on the demand. If owner fails to provide evidence then stern action will be taken against him.
