Faisalabad customs impounds 179 tyres valued Rs716000

FAISALABAD: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad foiled a bid to smuggle tyres worth Rs716000 from Peshawar to Faisalabad and arrested one of the accused smugglers.

Sources told Customs Today that on the directions of Director General Operations Shouqat Ali, a team, comprising of Customs Intelligence officials including Superintendent Zahid Raza Bukhari, Muhammad Saleem, Muhammad Siddique Intelligence Officer, and Sepoys, intercepted a Mazda mini truck with registration No: FDS-4377 near Gutt Wala Toll Plaza, Sheikhupura Road, Faisalabad. To a query, driver of the vehicle introduced himself as Haji Ali Abbass and produced different bilties issued by M/s New Super Diamond Goods Transport Co, Jhang Road, Faisalabad.
