Faisalabad Customs impounds smuggled blankets

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad confiscated smuggled blankets. The market value of seized blankets are Rs 12,24,612  involving duty and taxes of Rs 681527.

Sources told Customs Today, that additional director Ms. Azmat Tahira received credible information about smuggling of above said blankets. Soon after receiving the tip of she consituted a customs team comprising of Zahid Saleem Mirza (SIO), Main Muhammad Yousaf, Farzand Ali (IO), Tajamal Hussain and Muhammad Musaddiq Ahmad (sepoys).

The customs team raided near Motorway Rest Area Sial Mor Faisalabad range and seized smuggled blankets. The customs team asked the accused person who was identified as Malik Shabbir Ahmad son of Abdul Qadeer who is a resident of Chakkri Road Dhamial Camp Rawalpindi to provide legal documents regarding possession of above said blankets, but he failed to provide the same. After his failure customs team seized the blankets and arrested the accused person and registered a case against him.
