Faisalabad Customs impounds smuggled cotton curtain cloth, bed sheets

FAISALABAD: Customs Faisalabad seized foreign origin bed sheets, curtain cloth and Indian cotton.  The market value of seized items are Rs 1737071, while these items also involves duty and taxes amounting to Rs 966714/-.

Sources told Customs Today that additional collector customs Faisalabad Mrs. Azmat Tahira received credible information regarding smuggling of above said items. After receiving the tip of she immediately consitituted a raiding taem comprising Zahid Saleem Mirza (SIO), Mian Muhammad Yousaf,  Farzand Ali (IO), Tajamal Hussain, Muhammad Musaddiq Ahmad (sepoys).

The customs taem intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No. LES-3255 near Chenab Chowk Jhang Road Faisalabad and seized smuggled curtain clothes, and bed sheets. A huge quanity of Indian origin cotton was also taken into custody.

The customs team asked accused persons who was identified as Muhammad Farooq son of Muhammad Shafi and Muhammad Unees son of  Muhammad Shafiq to produce legal documents regarding possession of the above said clothes but both of the accused failed to produce the same. After their failure customs team arrested the accused persons and registered a case against them.
