Faisalabad Customs impounds smuggled vehicles in three weeks of June

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) seized huge quantity of non duty paid goods and vehicles by foiling different smuggling bids during first three weeks of June 2018.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs Intelligence and Investigation made eight seizures in its regions including two smuggled cases registered by the FIU Sargodha and five operations conducted successfully against the smugglers while another one case were also detected Sara-i-Muhajir.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Deputy Director Rana Irfan Shouqat said the teams are determined to curb the smuggling in the region and there is no room for smugglers.

He said the customs is taking action against the smugglers in cooperation with the other law enforcement agencies. He also appreciated the performance of the intelligence teams and vowed to continue such operations against the culprits.

He added that Faisalabad intelligence impounded Honda City car No  LRL 2545 worth Rs 500000 involving duty and taxes of Rs 1500000, foreign origin fully refined paraffin wax 5000 kilograms worth Rs 870000 involving duty and taxes Rs 420000 Toyota Corolla car bearing registration no AAJ 462 Quetta worth Rs 1500000 involving duty and taxes Rs 900000 foreign origin Pine wood Swan timber 61.210 kilogram worth Rs 3200000 involving duty and taxes Rs 1650000 foreign origin old and used LCD monitor assorted brand 133 numbers worth Rs 532000 involving duty and taxes Rs 200000. Besides Field Investigation Unit (FIU) impounded Hino truck no RIS 16-3675 worth Rs 8000000 involving duty and taxes Rs2750000 Hino Truck bearing registration No SGS 14-1105 valued Rs5000000 involving duty and taxes Rs 750000.

Meanwhile FIU Sarai Muhajir seizes Hino truck bearing registration no: OKS -17-350 worth Rs70,00,000 involving duty and taxes Rs 2,55,0000.
