Faisalabad customs impounds smuggled vehicles valued Rs05.6 in second week of May

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad seized items worth Rs07million involving Customs Duty and Taxes of Rs05.6 by foiling different smuggling bids during second week of May 2017.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs Intelligence and Investigation made five seizures in its regions including two smuggled cases registered by the FIU Khushab and three operations were conducted successfully against the smugglers by regional office Faisalabad.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Assistant Director Syed Ittrat Hussain said the intelligence teams are determined to curb the smuggling in the region and there is no room for smugglers. He said the customs is taking action against the smugglers in cooperation with the other law enforcement agencies. He also appreciated the performance of the intelligence teams and vowed to continue such operations against the culprits.

He added that Faisalabad intelligence impounded Hino ranger truck with registration No: TKA-291 (Jaffarabad) modelled 2000 worth Rs02.00million involving duty and taxes of Rs01.5million, Hino ranger truck No: LES-18-4975 valued Rs01.8million involving Custom Duty Taxes Rs01.3million, Toyota Hilux surf having no registration Number worth Rs100000 involving Duty Taxes of Rs01.1million besides Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Khushab impounded Mitsubishi Turbo Intercooler 3-door with registration No: AFR-2016 valued Rs100000 involving Customs Duty Taxes of Rs800000, Toyota Hilux pickup with registration No: CG-5945 modelled 1991 worth Rs01.2million involving Customs Duty and Taxes of Rs01.1million.
