Faisalabad Customs Intelligence collects evaded tax, release consignments

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation released consignments worth Rs3.85 million after receiving evaded duty and taxes. The said consignments were held during January 2017.

According to details, the consignments released by the customs intelligence consist of foreign origin computers worth Rs1.61 million, red chilies worth Rs332,054, LEDs worth Rs971,765 and other two consignments of miscellaneous items worth Rs966,750.

Sources said that the said consignments were held by the customs intelligence due to evasion of customs duty worth Rs494,565, sales tax Rs1.4 million, income tax Rs447,693 and redemption duty Rs1.5 million, during January 2017.

The tax evasion was found by Deputy Collector Riaz Hussain and his team comprising Superintendent Zahid Raza Bukhari, Senior Intelligence Officer Muhammad Tahir, Intelligence Officer Mansoor Nasir, Sepoys Ajamal Hussain and Muhammad Musaddiq Ahmad.
