Faisalabad Customs Intelligence confiscates auto parts, truck worth Rs 1.9m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has impounded a mini truck and used auto parts, including rear axle and front axle of heavy-duty vehicles worth Rs 1.98 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 793,750.

The staff of Customs Intelligence intercepted a Shehzor mini truck bearing registration No. SGN-8677 near Chenab Nagar Toll Plaza Sargodha Road. The officials asked the driver named Muhammad Ijaz and owners of the items named Irfan Siddique and Muhammad Shakeel to show documents regarding the legal import but they failed to do the same.

After the legal formalities, the vehicle and items were impounded Section 157 of Customs Act, 1969 and the case has been sent to adjudication for further legal action.

The intelligence team comprising Senior Intelligence Officer Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Intelligence Officer Muhammad Mansoor Nasir, Sepoy Muhammad Naeem Niazi, Sajjad Ahmed and Mukhtar Ahmed participated in the raid.
