Faisalabad Customs Intelligence seizes ceramic tiles worth Rs 3m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Investigation and Intelligence has seized smuggled ceramic tile valued at Rs 3.017 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 2.5 million.

As per details, a Customs Intelligence team following credible information received through Additional Director Muhammad Ismail, conducted a raid in Faisalabad City and recovered 5092 cartons of non-duty paid ceramic tiles.

Intelligence officers asked the owner namely Muhammad Naeem Tahir, to produce any documents regarding the legal import of the tiles but he remained failed to do so.

Therefore customs confiscated the smuggled items following the prevailing customs law.

Customs Intelligence team comprising Deputy Director Riaz Hussain, Superintendent Fareedud Din Masood, Senior Intelligence officer Muhammad Tahir, Mihammad Saleem and Ghulam Ghous participated in the operation.
