FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation conducting operation against smugglers, has confiscated contraband items worth Rs 16.14 million during first two weeks of November 2015.
The intelligence teams following directions of Additional Director Azmat Tahira conducted many raid to curb the smuggling in the region.
Garments accessories including caps, gloves, socks, jackets and coats worth Rs 1.145 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 656,181 were seized during two different raids, besides impounding a Hino Ranger Truck bearing Registration No. SEB-146 worth Rs 4.5 million.
The Faisalabad Customs intelligence also impounded a Nissan Truck bearing Registration No. C-2000 worth Rs 4.5.
Meanwhile, Khushab Field Investigation Unit (FIU) has impounded a Toyota Land Cruiser bearing Registration No. VZJ-95 worth Rs 3 million.
The raiding party headed by Deputy Director Muhammad Riaz and consisting of Senior Intelligence Officer Muhammad Tahir Iqbad, Muhammad Mansoor, Muhammad Saeed, Farzand Ali and others participated in different raids in their respective areas.
