Faisalabad Customs Intelligence impounds truck, generator worth Rs 4.8m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has confiscated a generator of 400 KVA along with a truck being used for the transportation of smuggled generator. The value of seized items is Rs 4.86 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 2.64 million.

Customs Intelligence team intercepted a Mazda Mini truck bearing Registration No. FDV-7351 near Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad and recovered a generator. The officials asked the person concerned to show documents regarding the legal import of the items, but he could not do the same.

Therefore, the customs officials impounded the truck and generator after legal formalities under Section 157(2) of Customs Act, 1969.

The team comprising Senior Intelligence Officer Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Intelligence Officer Muhammad Mansoor Nasir, Sepoys Muhammad Naeem Niazi, Sajjad Ahmed and Mukhtar Ahmed participated in the raids.

For the further legal action, report has been submitted to the adjudication department.
