Faisalabad Customs Intelligence, Khushab FIU seize items worth Rs 44m in June

FAISALABAD: The Customs Investigation and Intelligence Faisalabad and Field Investigation Unit Khushab confiscated illegally imported items including vehicles worth Rs 44.5 million including duty/taxes amounting to Rs 24.24 million in June, 2015 the last month of outgoing fiscal year 2014-15.

Customs Intelligence, Faisalabad Additional Director Muhammad Ismail and Deputy Director Muhammad Ijaz appreciated the performance of the staff in foiling various smuggling bids in their respective regions.

Customs Investigation and Intelligence Faisalabad, headed by Additional Director Muhammad Ismail impounded many vehicle and smuggled goods valued at Rs 37.15 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 20.5 million.

It impounded eight vehicles including Nisan Diesel Trailer bearing Registration No. C-1541, another trailer Registration No. TLZ-373, a Toyota Vitz car Registration No. AAJ-872, Dumper truck bearing Registration No. K-3710, Mini truck registration No. RNR-4783 and a Hino Truck in different operations with total value at Rs 14.6 million.

Faisalabad Customs Intelligence also seized smuggled goods include cloth, gunny bags, almond, cumin seed, bulbs, generators, plastic bottles, glass balls and other items during the said period.

Meanwhile, Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Khushab also confiscated various smuggled items including generators, tyres, black tea, and vehicles worth Rs 7.4 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 3.68 million in June, 2015.

Customs intelligence team under the supervision of Superintend Muhammad, Tahir Iqbal comprising Senior Intelligence Officer Muhammad Saeed khan, Mansoor Khan, Main Muhammad Yousaf, Muhammad Saleem and others conducted operations to foil smuggling bids in Faisalabad, Sargodha and Khushab.
