Faisalabad Customs Intelligence seizes cloth worth Rs 2.2 million

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation seized smuggled cloth worth Rs 2.242 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 1.393 million.

Sources told Customs Today that intelligence officials received credible information through Additional Director Azmat Tahira regarding the possible smuggling of cloth.

Following the information, the officials raided godown of M/s Gujrat Cargo Service and found eight bags of cloth. The accused person namely Muhammad Ijaz and Muhammad Arslan Anjum asked to produce the documents showing legal import of the items. But they remained failed therefore officials confiscated the items under customs law.

Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO) Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Intelligence Officer Mian Muhammad Yousaf, Sepoys Allah Bakhsh and Muhammad Naeem Niazi and others participated in the raid.
