Faisalabad Customs Intelligence seizes items worth Rs 17.3m in April

FAISALABAD: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation seized smuggled goods worth Rs 17.39 involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 7.16 million in different anti-smuggling activities during April, 2016.

The Customs Intelligence conducted operations against the smuggled goods and vehicles in different areas of its jurisdiction, including Sargodha, Khoushab, and Faisalabad.

The teams confiscated smuggled LED TVs and 84 kilogram of cloth worth Rs 344,000, Hino Truck bearing Registration No SEA-779 worth Rs 2.5, 176 bales of textile fabric worth Rs 7 million, and handmade used carpets worth Rs 2.409 million.

Besides, the Customs Intelligence impounded two vehicles being used for the transportation of smuggled items. A truck bearing Registration No TLC-868 worth Rs 4 million and another truck Registration No TJ-9187 worth Rs 1 million.

All the seizure cases have been referred to the Customs Adjudication for further legal actions.
