FAISALABAD: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation seized smuggled goods worth Rs 420,000 involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 217,207 in different anti-smuggling activities during the first ten days of May 2016.
Officials said that the Customs Intelligence conducted operations on the instruction of Additional Director Azmat Tahira against the smuggled goods and vehicles in different areas of its jurisdiction, including Sargodha, Khoushab, and Faisalabad.
The teams confiscated smuggled included foreign Origin tyres and tubes as the accused person named Atif Mustaq could not produce documents regarding the legal import of the items.
Besides, the seizure case has been referred to the Customs Adjudication for further legal actions.
