Faisalabad Customs Intelligence seizes items worth Rs 7.5 million

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has confiscated smuggled items worth Rs 7.548 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 5.351 million during the fourth week of October, 2015 in different anti-smuggling drives.

Under the supervision of Additional Director Azmat Tahira, the Customs Intelligence seized a smuggled generator worth Rs 2.5 million and a Mazda Mini Truck bearing Registration No. LES-2684, which was being used for the transportation of the smuggled items.

Meanwhile, three non-duty paid vehicles were also impounded during the said period. The officials impounded a Suzuki Jimny Jeep bearing Registration No. 6225 worth Rs 800,000 involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 608,560, a Toyota Corolla worth Rs 800,000 and a Hino Truck bearing Registration No. SPA-339 worth Rs 3 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 1.86 million.

Additional Director Azmat Tahira has appreciated the performance of the officials, besides urging them to more tighten the noose on smugglers.
