Faisalabad Customs Intelligence seizes non duty paid items in September

FAISALABAD: Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation seized non duty paid Iranian origin dates, black pepper Suzuki swift and Hino truck being used for transportation of smuggled goods during the month of September.

Talking to Customs Today, Deputy Director Rana Irfan Shouqat said that in pursuance of intelligence shared by Director General (DG) Shaukat Ali special team constituted to foil these attempts.

Irfan said that following the lead the team intercepted Suzuki Swift car bearing registration no: LED-10-3708 model 2004 and recovered foreign origin black pepper, 1320 kilograms, cloth 500 kilogram, Indian origin dates 22989 kilogram and Hino Ranger truck bearing registration no: MHS-16-373 model 1998.

However the raids were carried out in different areas including Shiekhpura Road, Motorway Sargodha Road Jhang Road, local markets of Faisalabad and in different areas of Sargodha.

The anti-smuggling squad comprising Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Intelligence Officer Mansoor Nasir, Muhammad Saleem and others participated.

Following the above mentioned findings contravention reports were prepared by the Customs Intelligence and forwarded to the adjudication for legal proceedings.
