Faisalabad Customs Intelligences seizes items worth Rs 11.4m in Sept

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation confiscated smuggled items worth Rs 11.49 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 5.415 million during September 2016.

The Customs Intelligence officials said that these items, including computers, printers, vehicle, monitors, laptop, etc were seized during different operations conducted in Faisalabad, Sargodha and Khushab after the accused persons could not produce documents regarding legal import of the items. The department registered three cases during the said period.

The intelligence staff impounded a Toyota land Cruiser Prado worth Rs 3.5 million involving custom duty to the tune of Rs 4 million which recovered from the possession of Sarfraz Muhammad. It seized computer systems, printer and laptops worth Rs 7.5 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 831,000 from Shafqat Ali and others. The department also raided Rana Electronics, Sargodha Road and seized LED TVs worth Rs 940,000 involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 584,093. All the cases have been sent to the Customs Adjudication for further legal action.
