Faisalabad Customs recovers non-customs-paid dry coconut

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization team recovered huge quantity of non-duty paid smuggled 22980 kilograms dry coconut from Sargodha Road Faisalabad.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig received credible information that huge quantity of dry coconut is being smuggled from Peshawar side without payment of customs duty and taxes.

He immediately constituted a team under the supervision of Additional Deputy Collector Muhammad Saeed Asad which also included Superintendent Sardar Muhammad Chaudhary, Inspector Mehmood Dogar, Sepoy Tanvee ul Haq Bajwa, Amir Mumtaz Bajwa and others.

Sources told that during the raid, customs team asked for legal documents but no one provided any relevant legal documents. After their failure customs team seized all the items and started investigations.

It is also necessary to mention here that Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig already directed all anti- smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy towards smuggling. He directed that anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt with iron hands.
