Faisalabad Customs recovers smuggled auto parts

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has recovered smuggled auto parts worth Rs 148,000 during a crackdown.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Director Customs Intelligence Muhammad Riaz Hussain received information regarding the smuggling attempt. He formed a customs team comprising Zahid Saleem Mirza (SIO) Main Muhammad Yousaf and Farzand Ali (IO) and Havaldar Muhammad Naeem Niazi.

The customs team raided Pir Mahal Goods Transport Company Shop No. 951 Genish Mills Factory area and found smuggled auto part brought into the country without payment of duty and taxes.

The seized items includes real axel Isuzu without deaf, used front axel HTV different tube HTV and foreign origin used front axel HTV 12 nos worth Rs 1480000  involving customs duty and taxes worth Rs 939800.

The customs team asked accused person who identified as Hassan Zafar son of Zafar Saleem and Mohammad Saleem son of Khushi Mohammad to produce legal documents regarding possession of parts but they failed to provide the same. The seizure report submitted to the adjudication department for further investigation.
