Faisalabad Customs recovers smuggled items

FAISALABAD:  Customs Faisalabad authorities seized a containers loaded with furniture, trolley suit case, TV cabinets, juicer blenders, cell phones, telephone sets, Iranian tiles and other items worth Rs 1.5 millions.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Superintendent Anwar Perwaiz received information that Shahzad Enterprises Faisalabad importing different items from Hong Kong, China, and Dubai by declaring their description on the transshipment documents.

Customs autorities constituted a team comprising Muhammad Anwar Pervaiz (Deputy Superintendent), Muhammad Babar Hussain, Examination Icharge, Shafiq Ahmad Baig and Syed Shazad Ali (inspectors).

The customs taem intercepted the container and recovered the items. The importer who was identified as Shahzad remained present on the spot during examination but after finalization of examination he slipped away and did not turn up after sensing the situation.

The customs authorities seized the goods and forwarded the case to customs adjudication.
