Faisalabad Customs release consignments after receiving tax

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation released consignments worth Rs2,220,298 after receiving evaded amount of duty and taxes. The said consignments were detained during the month of March 2017.

According to details, the consignments released by the Customs Intelligence consist of foreign origin items worth Rs1,133,693, Hino truck worth Rs260,000, Rani Juice worth Rs93,581, make-up kits etc worth Rs634,781, and Membrance sheet worth Rs98,243.

Sources said that the said consignments were held by the Customs Intelligence due to evasion of customs duty worth Rs528,004, sales tax Rs550,226, income tax Rs207,121 and redemption fine duty Rs934,947 during March 2017.

The tax evasion was detected by team comprising Superintendent Zahid Raza Bukhari, Senior Intelligence Officer Muhammad Tahir, Intelligence Officer Mansoor Nasir, Sepoys Ajmal Hussain and Muhammad Musaddiq Ahmad.
