Faisalabad Customs seizes 143 cartons of foreign liquor, vehicle worth Rs35.568m

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs anti-smuggling squad has seized 143 cartons of foreign origin liquor which were tactfully hidden under crates of tomatoes.

Sources told that after receiving credible information, customs anti-smuggling squad intercepted a vehicle which was loaded with 143 cartons of foreign origin liquor concealed under crates of tomatoes”.

Sources further said that 1,504 liquor bottles were seized which are worth a whopping Rs26.568 million, while the value of the vehicle is approximately Rs10 million.

The market value of the seizure was Rs35.568 million approximately an FIR had been lodged against the individuals and investigation is still underway till the filing of this report.

It is necessary to mention here that Chief Collector Faiz Ahmad directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy against smuggling. He further directed that anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt as per law.
