Faisalabad Customs seizes contraband worth Rs 3 million

FAISALABAD: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad has seized 960 bags of smuggled phthalic anhydride worth Rs 3 million, besides impounding a truck being used for transporting.

Acting on information received through Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad, customs’ team intercepted a truck bearing registration no. Q.A.D-7365 near Sadar bypass Jhang Road, Faisalabad, loaded with phthalic anhydride bags weighing 24,000 kilogram.

Official asked the driver to produce the documents regarding the legal import and lawful possession of the item, while he could not satisfy them over legal import of the consignment due to not having legal documents.

Officials informed that consignment was booked by Abdul Rauf resident of Quetta through Khashal Goods Forwarding Agency, Quetta.Raid was conducted by Superintendent Muhammad Tahir, Mansoor Khan, Azhar Khan, Sikandar and others.
