Faisalabad Customs seizes huge quantity of smuggled goods in August

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized various contraband items including non duty paid vehicles worth Rs10,700,0000 involving duty and taxes amounting to Rs6,494,090 during the month of August.

According to the details, following the instructions of Deputy Director Muhammad Azam Khan teams of Customs Intelligence including the Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Khushab, Sara-e- Muhajir took stern action against smugglers during the month of August.

The Customs Intelligence has seized 684 cartons of glazed procelain polish tiles worth Rs900,000, besides impounding Toyota Corolla car bearing registration no: Q-2259 (Karachi) worth Rs1,000,000 which were brought into country without payment of duty taxes, ladies first shoes and sandals Rs2,600,000, shoes for boys and casual Rs2,600,000 and others miscleanous goods.

Sources told that the value of the seized items estimated at Rs1,000,000 involving duty and taxes amounting to Rs985,280.

On the other hand, Customs FIU Sara-e-Muhajir confiscated smuggled ladies shoes and trailer bearing registration no: TLW-244 while total value of the seized items is Rs2,600,000 involving duty and taxes amounting to Rs875,000.

Customs Intelligence teams comprising, Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Senior Intelligence Officer Muhammad Saeed Khan, Mansoor Khan, Muhammad Siddique, Intelligence Officer Muhammad Saleem, Sepoy Masood Iqbal and Ghulam participated in the raids.

Raids were conducted by Customs Intelligence teams at different areas including Sheikhpura Road, Motorways, Szmundri Road, Jhang Road and also Sargodha Road.
